Guala Closures bags ISO 9002 certificate

Ltd on Wednesday received ISO 9002 certification by TUV Suddeutschland, the prestigious German certifying agency with its headquarters in Munich and 10 branches in India, including a newly opened branch in Goa. The certification has been awarded for good manufacturing practices and strong commitment towards customer satisfaction. With this, all the Guala Closures group companies are now ISO 9002 certified. Guala Closures (India) Pvt. Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guala Closures SPA of Italy, an Italian multinational, which has manufacturing facilities in Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, China, apart from Italy and India. They are the world's leading manufacturers of tamper evident non-refillable closures for the liquor industry. They control approximately 65 per cent of the world market in this segment and also manufacture Pet preforms and blowing of Pet bottles. The company started its operation in 1997 with manufacturing of specialty caps for liquor industry at Goa. Customer confidence in the product and growing market demand encouraged the group to treble the capacity at Goa and start another unit at Daman during this year. In 2000, they started manufacture of Pet preforms at Goa, where capacity augmentation plans are currently in progress.
