Ministry offices meet ISO standards

VietNamNet – The offices of the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) have recently received the ISO 9001:2000 quality office operation management systems certification. Implementing the administrative reform programme of the MARD, under the assistance of the administrative reform project (VIE/02/016), the MARD office began to incorporate the quality office operation management system under ISO 9001:2000 standards in late 2003. On May 20, 2005, the office started to experimentally apply the quality management system for 17 major jobs. In mid August 2005, the minister of agriculture and rural development approved the experimental application of the quality office operation management system under ISO standards at the MARD office. In late 2005, after evaluating the system, the QUACERT granted the ISO 9001:2000 certificate for quality office operation management to the office. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Ngoc Thuat said that the application of the quality office operation management system under ISO 9001:2000 standard was to develop scientific, effective working procedures, clearly define each organ and individual’s working responsibility, and raise the effectiveness of MARD state management activities.
